About this example
This line graph uses illustrative annual publication counts to show change across five numeric years. The zero in 2021 is an observed count, so it appears as a point at zero rather than a missing observation.
Open the example, replace the Year and Publications columns, and label the axes for your dataset. Rows are sorted by X; repeated X values remain separate observations. Connecting lines join supplied points without estimating values between them.
The last count is 12 publications in 2025. The chart calculates no trend test, confidence interval, or fitted growth rate. Use the two-treatment example to inspect gaps, or the monthly example to see a date axis.
The data
| Year | Publications |
|---|---|
| 2021 | 0 |
| 2022 | 1 |
| 2023 | 2 |
| 2024 | 5 |
| 2025 | 12 |
Rows are sorted by X; missing Y values leave gaps. No statistical test is calculated. Open the example, replace the data with your own, and export the figure as SVG, PDF, PNG or TIFF.
