Nine accepted measurements include negatives and zeros; one NA is missing, never an invented zero. Illustrative data.

About this example

These illustrative measurements include negative values, genuine zeros and one explicit NA marker. Control contributes four accepted observations and Treatment contributes five. The missing marker is reported separately and is not replaced with a zero or included in the group mean.

The linear axis can display all signed measurements. A log10 view cannot display these non-positive values. Mean bars retain a zero baseline, while Box uses type-7 quartiles and observed values within the inclusive 1.5-IQR fences; changing the view does not remove outliers from the data.
